Compost Tea

What is it?

Compost tea is liquid slurry of compost ingredients which contains and promotes beneficial organisms, active and dormant, that exists, or used to exist, in your landscape. This is not a new process. In fact, compost tea has been around for centuries. Compost tea is 100 % organic.

How does it work?

All soils and foliage have beneficial and detrimental organisms in and on it. Before your home was built the soil was active and teaming with life. Unfortunately, construction generally destroys this due to compaction and soil removal. Conventional pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, pollution and poor drainage, to name a few, also destroy the beneficials.

Compost tea adds the “good guys” back into your soil and on the foliage. They then help defeat insects and diseases, make nutrients more readily available improving the health of your plants, it helps break down organic matter, it increases worm activity, and it reduces drought stress and the need to water as much. .

Why should I use it on my landscape?

Application Methods

Soil Drench

 Compost tea is applied to landscape beds and around trees to add the healthy biology and nutrients back into the soil

Foliar Application

 Compost Tea is applied to the foliage of trees and plants allowing the nutrients to be absorbed through leaves, bark and stems. It also helps to reduce certain harmful insects and diseases.
